Tony J King plays The Royal Mail Hotel this Friday at 6.00pm. With a few stories, old guitar, bass drum and foot tambourine, Tony creates a ramshackle music that has its roots in the blues, jazz and folk sounds of the forties and fifties. Original musical tales honed from a fascination with the unusual, the exotic and the downright bizarre are combined with some roots classics from Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, JJ Cale, Scrapper Blackwell, John Fogerty, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Muddy Waters, Johnny Cash, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Tom Waits, Misssissippi John Hurt and Howling Wolf.
